About the Photographer

My name is Jill Beninato and I live in Virginia Beach, VA with my husband, daughter and three crazy dogs Cowboy, Daisy and Zoe. I have a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD where I studied fine art and metalsmithing. I owned my own wholesale jewelry design business for 11 years before making the transition into pet photography. Dogs and cats have always been a real source of inspiration for me...they are so "in the moment" and honest with their moods and expressions. I enjoy the challenge of capturing your pets personality and I love creating memories for my clients that will last a lifetime.

My style of photography is often described as "fun and colorful." I am drawn to color and texture and I prefer to shoot on location with natural light whenever possible. I love photographing pets, meeting lots of great people and a bunch of really cool cats and dogs. My clients may have fur but they make me laugh and remind me daily what life is really all about. I honestly believe that I have the best job in the world!
